Abstract

The first Pakistani film, "Teri Yad," was released in 1948, while The Weekly Nigar initially appeared in 1949. It would not be incorrect to claim that the weekly Newspaper and the Pakistani cinema industry are contemporaries and have developed together. Over the course of more than 70 years, both have seen many ups and downs. The Pakistani film industry's highs and lows are directly observed by Weekly Nigar. Therefore, studying Nigar is sort of like studying the film industry in Pakistan. Through this research, it is possible to pinpoint the problems, situations, and occurrences that the Pakistani film business, its related people, and the weekly Nigar, the country's largest film magazine, have to deal with. Ilyas Rashidi, the man behind the Newspaper, has dedicated his life to advancing the motion picture industry. Shameem Ara, Sangeeta, Rani, Shabnam, Saud, Robin Ghosh, author Bashir Niaz, and renowned filmmaker Nazar-ul-Islam are just a few of the industry’s stars that Nigar introduced. Nigar Awards, which Ilyas Rashidi introduced in 1957, profoundly altered the Pakistani film industry. Ilyas Rashidi is regarded as the "Father of Film Journalism" as a result of all of his achievements. The weekly Nigar stayed strong with the film industry and those connected to it, regardless of martial law, linguistic disputes, economic hardships, or religious extremism
